It’s a wall mounted safety gate so you will have to fit it to the wall or doorway with screws. You can extend it indefinitely with small and large sections, which you can buy separately. To make things a little easier you can open the gate in either direction with just one hand.

When used as a fire surround, always place the gate minimum 75 cm (29.6”) away from the source of heat/fire and minimum 90 cm (35.5”) from open fire
Since every fireplace/wood burning stove reaches different temperatures, the placing is only intended asa guide line. Test your own unit at maximum heat output before placing the gate. If the gate is hot to touch, move gate further from heat source than the recommended minimum distance
Should it not be possible to keep the recommended distances, separate sections are available.
